If I found a way to get some DRs or the ET streets I have on my car for the no bull, so that I may have a shot at the 13.5 instead of the 14.5 class, How many of you think I'd break the everloving hell out of my 3.42 geared 10 bolt on a 2000 to 2500 rpm launch? Not necessarily a sidestep dump, but a solid launch. Will the 3.42s give a little extra strength to the paper thin 10 bolt? Seems like a lot that break on their first trip to the dragstrip or whatever are geared 4.10 or so, which would seem to make the teeth on the ring gear weaker to me because they would be thinner. I know its been discussed, just a question based on my scenario

EDIT: The car has a lid, LTs, ORY.

The ring gear is actually THICKER with a deeper gear... the Pinion is what gets smaller.

I can't empathize....lol. with a 10 bolt its always a gamble. For some it goes deep in the ets. Others it snaps like ****ing twig at the mere mention of drag radials.

Well I'm not going to say I'm a good driver. I can't get my car to 60' at all on street tires. I've only been down the strip a few times in it when it was running well, and the other times it burned an O2 sensor and dropped clear down into the low 15s. That's not a real good gauge of what me or the car can do.
