I am looking to put on a Heads Up Street Series this year. I have a date for Roswell and a Date for Hobbs. I am looking for some input. Contructive comments only please. Participants will have to make 20 of 30 possible points to be considered a street car. I may approach the Albuquerque facility as well if there is enough interest. Here are the basics. $50.00 entry. $1000 to win. Sponsors needed. I would like to increase that purse by a bunch.

The Ultimate Street Fight

Cars must meet a minimum of 20 points to qualify as a street car and participate in the event.

Point System Pts.

Registration 4
Insurance 4
D.O.T. Tires 4
Mufflers 4
(Turbos are considered a muffler)
Headlights 3
Taillights 3
Brake Lights 3
Turn Signals 3
Horn 1
Wipers 1

Total 30

Points Examples

No Insurance, No Registration, No Wipers, No Horn IN

No Insurance, No Registration, No D.O.T. Tires OUT

No Mufflers, No Insurance, No Headlights OUT

No Headlights, No Taillights, No Brake Lights, No Turn Signals OUT

Slicks, Mufflers, No Insurance, No Registration (meet all others) IN

I am down, if there is no mph or time limit bullshit! Count us in, i am down for a $50 buy in and maybe a $50 dollar buy in, maybe limit it to one buy in. This sounds like a great idea, nice way to welcome the new track owner! I can get a bunch of people from hobbs and midland to come as well.

So you don't to be registered and insured, just have tires, mufflers and make sure all your lights work and you're instantly a street car!

C'mon now.

I am trying to open it up a little bit. Suppose you have EVERYTHING except you just don't insure or register that car cause you mostly race it at the track. You can race because you have everything else that defines a street car.

Suppose you have registration and insurance, but you wish to run open exhaust and slicks, you can race too providing you have most everything else. A points system doesn't automatically eliminate someone for not having one or two items, but still is not a "race car".

A mandatory cruise maybe? I am still undecided on that one.

Maybe a few mandatory rules such as stock appearing dash, two seats. I am open for suggestions of what you consider to be a street car.

Just like he said, you do not have to have all that to be a street car, just enough to make it past the points, who cares if they are not registered or insured, lets quit the bitching and finger pointing and get a race series going, Scott is not pulling you over to write you a ticket, so registration makes no ****ing difference here! I like the point system, that was a good idea.

A street car (truck, van, bike, etc.) is registered, insured and driven on the street. Those are as bare essentials as a street car needs.

****in' ask for registration and insurance and drive 'em to the track. What's so hard about that? Simple!

This race is in no way intended to replace the Street Brawl or the No-Bull series. It is another venue for "us" to race our "street" cars. I believe a cruise will be in order, and I would like to see everyone stay together for the most part, but it isn't crucial they do.

I'll never forget the day I followed Dickson all the way from Bernalillo to the race track, just so he could hand me my ass when we got there. LMAO

I did get a free burger and bratwurst off his grill though. Good Times for sure!!

Its starting to get old that anytime someone comes up with a new series to race in or a date to get a bunch of cars together to race someone is always bitching about the rules. The people bitching about the rules I have never seen put a series together or ever be a part of something going together. Its just starting to get old!

If the goal is to keep the racing "heads up." I'd expand the points system, then match up cars based off of the points. This would prevent situations like you mentioned earlier where you were matched up against Anthony.

Just some ideas:

Tires:
Radial Tire +7
Drag Radial +4
DOT Bias +2
Slick +0

Power Adder:
N/A +5
Single Power Added +2
Multiple +0

Transmission:
Clutched Stick +5
Automatic +2
Auto with Brake +0

Chassis (I used negatives because cars can employ multiples from the list below):
Stock, no suspension modifications +0
Bolt On traction bar -2
Ladder bar -4
4 Link (non factory) -6
Tubular front cross member -4
Full Chassis -10
