So I went to the track last night with the new tranny and restalled converter. The damn trans brake still doesn't want to work when it's under load, after a burnout. Gonna try to put it on a relay and see if that does the trick. So after 2 passes of doing a burnout then trying the brake (and it not working) I said **** it and drove straight to the line without doing a burnout. Got the brake to work, left on about 10-12lbs of boost, spun pretty good and went [email protected] This is on 13lbs, pump gas. I think it has 10.1-10.2 in it with the brake working properly. After I get that sorted out, it'll be time to turn the boost back up.

I am very happy with the new tranny, it shifts FAST.

Hmmm. Drive to the track, Check. Car on pump gas and low boost, Check. Runs a 10.0x on said pump gas and low boost tune, Check. Good job. Finally get to see it run like it should.

Hell ya. Good runs dude. But Erik, it didnt run a 10.0X on pump gas and low boost, it ran a 10.4 on pump and low boost. I think when he has the brake figured out it has a 10.1-10.2 figured out on pump and low boost.

I think with a good burn-out, Transbrake working properley, and 2 more psi, it should be close to a 10.0x something

Thats wierd, have you checked to see if you have 12 volts at the solenoid when the button is pushed? typically you don't need a relay on a T-brake as it's only used for about 5 to 10 seconds, I use 14 ga.wire with a 10 amp fuse and a 20 amp ATI snap button, I have no idea how much amperage a Rossler trans brake solenoid draws, but I checked the draw on my TCI t-brake and it was only 5.4amps, if you do put a relay in there, i'd put a 40 amp one in it because of the amperage spike when it's first activated, but I'm definitly no expert on this, I would be very interested to hear what Rossler say's, that's one badass tranny you have there, good luck and please post up what you find.

That's too bad your brand new built ****ing tranny doesn't even work right. Hopefully the relay fixes the problem. Good times for a first outing with the new set-up though. Get the little bugs fixed and turn it up. That bitch will be seeing nines faster than an arab behind a convenience store counter...

The tranny works perfect. It an issue with the wiring to the button.

you should never need to use a relay for a transbrake, as it only draws 5amps. installing a relay only delays the reaction time off the line, as well as another "junction point of failure". If you "do" use the relay, then install diode-supplied-relay or solder a 1N4001 diode across the coil to suppress spike voltages. most 12volt relays are 30/40A type.

I am curious what type of momentary switch you are using for your transbrake? Also, are the wires soldered at the switch as well as transbrake wires or crimped/pushed on?

what gauge wire do you have installed and how far is the run? 12~14 gauge is typical.

The solenoid on my glide was loose and would not operate properly until tightened.

The button I'm using came on the hurst knob I have, but its using what looks like speaker wire. Just seems a little too small. I will hook up the button I used last year and see what happens. There is nothing wrong with the tranny, its just some kind of wiring issue.

Last year I had the brake on a relay because of the nitrous, and it never failed. I'll try the other button first though.
