Why would just a lid and exhaust cause a extreme rich condition? It didn't throw the car in limp mode or anything did it?
Ya that's ridiculous. I put a lid and my fuel mileage stayed the same. I also put on a new exhaust which dropped my mileage a whole .5 mpg, only because I started to run it higher before I shifted so I could hear the hear it lol

Headers historically make you run rich on an LS1. Now 10mpg? Who knows.

i think its an exageration but id say get ported maf ends and see what happens. Spending $600 on a tune for a bolt on car isnt really worth it

I have ported maf ends if your intrested. And what else do you plan on doing to the car. Modification wise. Cause if you have major mods coming up. Might as well wait til you get them done instead of paying for another tune.

Well, some of the better shops will offer you a large discount, if not a free retune if you need adjustments or a retune within a certain amount of time.

For example, I know TSP doesn't charge for a retune if it's within a year of the original tune.

Wait a while for the car to get used to it. Mine took like 2 weeks

Are your headers ceramic coated or just painted? Did you buy them new or used? My roomate put a set of the painted headers on his trans am and once they got hot, the paint that got on the inside flaked and got on the 02 sensor and made the car run like shit. Just a thought, though.

exactly. So for little supporting mods mail order tunes are the best. IMO. Until your complete with your setup. Then a Dyno Tune hands down. Hell with TSP you pay $200 for a mail order tune. Retune anytime for a year for free. And if within that year you want to dyno tune it. You pay the remainding $175 or so.

Locally Solid Technology seems to be the most popular and succesful. But like Trmin8r said . Check the o2's, plugs, codes. Etc.Etc.
