Here ya go RatRodScirroco. Nothing special, hence the reason it became a legend in it's day. By the way, the exterior color is Slate Gray but at night under the street lights, everyone thought it was a green color. Kinda funny when people would talk about it.

nah, it was taken in Rio Rancho. the car was sold about 4 years ago to someone living in Hobbs. He got it running with a smaller turbo and haven't heard about it since.

The turbo VW of doom was sold? WTF man!!!! You had a legend, and sold it to some dude in Hobbs?

Ehh.... I probably would have done the same thing. A "Legend" at 1990 performance levels was about 11's in street trim. I hope you got to beat the piss out of it before you let her go.

Later,

Greg

The turbo needed a rebuild and the clutch was on it's last life. I had parked for a few years before selling it. That thing was almost bulletproof at it's power level which was only about 300hp w/ NOS. Not bad considering the weight of the car was only about 2000 lbs. So today it would still hold it's own against a 400hp Neon unless they stripped the weight out of one.

When I parked it, I had plans of building a 2.0L and try for 400hp w/o NOS and maybe 500hp w/ NOS but with so many projects, I decided not to. Plus I had more fun with less money on my bikes.

Any car project is not cheap. I was in the 1979-1998 Mustangs business for many years and all my money went to building my 5.0 Coupe. And did I mention lots of money?

You've got a few VDubs huh?

Most of them I got really good deals on'um. Over the past 10 years of being in the VW world. Can't say I've killed off a motor yet .(like trowing a rod through the block and crazy stuff like that.)

I believe you as the germans do make some components bullittproof such as the steel cranks.

I won money because of that car more than once. Sleeper FTW.

So how many 5 point slows did you outrun at Renisance?
