Boost over spray because of not having to fill the bottle. Boost to me "feels" better, pulls harder. A nitrous purge is cool, but not compared to the whine of a nasty blower. And the retarded torque of a fast-spooling turbo car is ****ing awesome.

A comparison, my old Mustang stock motor with a B-cam, on a 150 shot, [email protected]
On 10psi of boost from a 60mm turbo, [email protected]

Hmmm. I prefer boost but nitrous has it's advantages over boost in some ways.

Let's use 01smokes vs. lbz34 on a roll on contest. Result: Overall the outcome was better for the nitrous app. and Art makes 40hp less peak power than Sean's bike.

Nitrous offers instant HP at any RPM range, Instant hit is usually better even with the best and most efficient sized turbo for your app. Spool time is still spool time. Yes you can brake boost to help but still........

Cheap HP=N2O
Reliable efficient HP=Boost

Nitrous is by far the best bang for your buck, but it does get pricey in the long run with refills and such. Nitrous done right can out perform boosted apps but you gotta know what your doing. (I don't)
Nothing compares to intercooled boost for a reliable and efficient way of gaining over 50% of your peak N/A HP. I would take a boosted engine making <500rwhp before I would take a juiced engine making >500rwhp on like a 150shot.
Don't get me wrong nitrous is a LOT of fun, but I can't see myself using it to be competitive with the heavy hitters...
BOOST FTW :twocents: :twocents:

No matter what, if you are shooting to make big power with either, the expense on both rise exponentially with the amount of HP desired. It is no longer just adding the poweradder but building a foundation to handle it which involves a built drivetrain and properly setup suspension to harness it all.

More power takes money!!!

Nitrous is better because there is no room in my car for a blower belt, and the steering shaft prevents a turbo manifold as well.

Seriously though, I like turbos, but the idea that nitrous cost more is ridiculous. Finchstang's car was just as fast on bottle. Sure now no expense for filling bottles, however, how many times can you fill a bottle for the expense of a $5000 turbo kit? Take a car like mine or some other unusual application and now you have to double that price for the turbo kit (not commercially available - all custom). Also if you have a carb rather than fuel injection, you have to get that ironed out as well. If you already have fuel injection, then that makes it easier. In my case I would have to figure out a manifold, then a blow through combo or fuel injection.

How many times could I fill a bottle after buying a $500 kit that makes 250 HP? Its a no-brainer for me.

Both haha, thats my plan.

If you want a cheap car to take to the track N2O, if you want to drive aroubd and always have the power on tap boost. I Always rather have boost but I like to drive and mess around at any given time.

I guess it really all just comes down to personal preference at this point. and the application/budget.

I'll take nitrous and boost please.:headbang:.
Initial cost is obviously larger for boost but personally I'm glad I don't have to refill my blower and have it on tap all the time. I'm lazy.
Especially on a random encounter on the way to the grocery store with someone, it takes away the doubt and wonder if you would have taken that guy if only you had motivated your ass to go to the fill station an hour earlier.

I'd say depends what you want it for other than speed.
I like the sound of a turbo or supercharger when driving around but if I was going to make a track car for best times, I would probably go with Nitrous.
I would rather have efficient power then be a dyno queen top end if best times was what I am looking to do.
If it was a street car that often saw driving outside of the dragstrip, then refilling would be just that more of a hassle, especially if you run out of it when you are having fun.

I'd take turbo boost over nitrous and i'll never use another small blower. Reasons for boost have already been stated multiple times.

and I sure don't think the car would be any quicker making the same power on nitrous as it does on the turbo, i'm only on full boost from the nanosecond that my time starts till a few feet past the finish line

His car went 10.0 on spray?

I totally failed to see that in Scotts post.. Emmett told me the car ran around 10.50s on spray but i don't know. I know damn well it never went 10.0 on spray considering the fastest the car ever went before I got it was 10.24 and that was on turbo

The car would have easily went 10.0 on spray. We never sprayed over 125. The 250 shot, race gas and timing would have easily put it there. The nitrous passes had the same gearing problem as the turbo did so the NOS was shut off at 1000 ft. and the car went through the traps on the limiter and low MPH. Had the gears been changed then, it would have certainly rn as well as it does now.

Don't get me wrong, the car is far superior with the Turbo kit without a doubt. I wish my car had that setup. I was just making the point that it COULD have gone the same speeds on Nitrous that it does on the turbo.

This is the only video I could find on short notice. Finchstang's car went high tens on bottle here IIRC.
