Shortened the Nitrous Bottle line in the Vega today. It was previously 14 feet long. It is now a little over 7 feet long. This results in a quicker purdge as well as less air in the line in the event of a purge failure. During the course of shortening the line, I place a bottle pressure guage in direct sight near the delay box so I can see it even in the dark. I experienced a purdge failure against Antohny Dickson which I didn't learn about until after the burnout (which prevented a purdge into the motor during the burnout). At any rate, this shorter line may prevent future catastrophys of this kind. Not that I was gonna outrun Anthony, but it could have at least been a race.

Sweet, that'll be a huge improvement. I shortened the one in my LS1 and it made a difference and it's not near the length you shaved in yours. I'm guessing that gauge doesn't have a backlight?

No backlight on the guage, but the dome light directly above it lights it up nicely with just the turn of the headlight switch. I can easily reach the switch and read the guage while strapped in so I figured that would be good.

The bottle is directly behind me on the car (hatchback) so the line is in the cabin no matter what.

Good work Scott. I need to eliminate alot of things in my car. I run brass Tee's to the foggers, plate, and guage and I hear air can get trapped in a Tee, so I'll probably replace those with good Y blocks. I may be calling for advise when that phase of the project begins.
