So evidently I dont know dick either.

There is a certain way the 22.5 Alcoa wheels need to be cut to not make the bead too thin.
I have looked all over the the place trying to find out where exactly to machine the wheel. If anyone know someone that knows what to do let me know.
In the mean time I'll do some more research and post up what I find.

no machine shop is going to be willing to be responsible for the wheels after machining. They probably don't have an extra .25" of material where the bead seats in the first place. get the right wheels and sell those!

There is no such thing as the right wheels. These are wheels from a truck (peterbilt) This is the only way to do it. You can buy the wheels machined from several places for $500.00 and up ea.
I can buy the wheels from work for under $300.00ea.
The wheels are rated at 7500lbs each and a much thicker than a passenger car wheel.
I just need to find out where they are removing material the wheel.

Here is what I'm after.
The only way to buy a tire with that short of a sidewall is to buy it in 22''. The shortest 22.5 truck tire is a 255 70 22.5 which still has a 6-7 inch tall sidewall.

I love lowered trucks but hate dually's lowered. Dually's just look stupid lowered. Something about a 1 ton axle not being used correctly bothers me lol. But to each his own. Make it look good.
Although I will de changing up the suspension it will still be able to tow anything I want. The truck will be on airbags eventually. At first I plan to install 3" drop spindles and a axle flip kit for the rear. This should drop it 6"front 8"rear. Still using the stock springs out back.
Once its bagged it will still handle the load, 90% of tractor trailers you see on the road are on air ride suspension

You might be able to take them a standard aluminum wheel and have them match the bead area. Most people run a 265/35R22 or a 305/45r22 tire IIRC. Hope this helps.
