Aside from the few that dont abuse their authority or are actually "good" cops, **** the police.

Some dickhead cop shoulder checked me last night downtown and then took me to an alley accusing ME of doing it to him!? WTF I apologized in fear of getting my ass kicked with nothing I could do.

I know one cop I respect. Maybe I'll meet more in the future. Maybe not. Saying "**** the Police" makes me feel ignorant, so I'll just be honest, I don't like them and I certainly don't trust them. I know good character when I see it and most of the cops I've dealt with appear to lack any form of it. Just because they hold the job title of "Police Officer" doesn't mean they aren't people, and there are a lot of shady people around.

I've never been arrested and I have no record. My beliefs and opinions are based off personal experience and observations.

maybe they were just having bad days. authority should not be abused, and there are some crooked ones out there. this is the sad reality when cops keep it too real.

I have several friends who are officers, and they are level-headed and good at what they do. I'm proud to know we have them watching our backs.

However, every once of respect I had for one officer I lost this past week over that one-step-above-the-average-Joe attitude a lot of them have. Can't say I'm surprised at that one.

In my life (which hasn't been that long), I have been harassed by more cops for no particular reason than I have been helped by cops when I needed it.

This incident pretty much closed off any trust I had in the police. After calling in a complaint about being hit on my motorcycle by a car (an SUV pulled out, I evaded, but he hit my frame slider and pushed me into the other lane, then he proceeded to give me the middle finger), one of the cops who I was filing the report to wasn't taking it seriously, was saying stuff like "that's what you get for driving recklessly", and smirking while he was writing the entire time. I gave him the plate number, the car make and model, and the gender and approximate age of the driver. It's been 7 months and they haven't given me any information regarding who I can go after for the incident. I called 1 month after the incident, and apparently the information has been "lost".

After going through that bullshit, I took it upon myself to get my conceal carry license, buy a few firearms, and get proficient on them. If they weren't willing to help me with something as simple as a hit and run, then I doubt they will be at my aid when something more serious happens.

Wow Pat I had no idea that happened. Glad you didn't get hurt.

I really want to have respect and trust in cops but with my experiences I dont. I am not saying they are all bad, I know a couple and they seem like good guys. But at least 75% of the time I have to deal with cops I get treated unfairly or bad. I will not show a person respect that does not show me any, so it usually makes for a bad encounter. All my experiences are with traffic violations. I have a folder of tickets Ive got and it was around 30 and probably 7 are legitimate and they are like speeding 10 over or something. Getting tickets sucks but if they are deserved I can only be mad at myself.

I guess I dont have any experience with cops that do more than traffic stuff. I dont deal drugs, I dont murder people, I dont live in the ghetto so maybe its just a traffic cop thing. I am sure narcotics officers ect... are must more professional and mature.

I watched this today and my blood is boiling. I think most guys join for the right reasons, but the longer they are there, the "Cop Culture" takes over. I guess they are a deterrent to crime but all they have done for me was to take a report after the damage was done. I would never depend on them to protect me.

i have alot of respect for the few cops i know. they are honest guys and dont abuse power. other than the few i know, most are on power trips. when i wrecked on motorcycle, i told the officer i was ran off of the road and had witnesses. the officer said bullshit you were driving wrecklessly and it was all my fault. he made me take my wallet out of my pocket when my hand skin was completely ripped off of fingers and palms. then when in ambulance he forced me to sign 3 tickets that he had wrote me while sitting in the ambulance with the doors open and freezing, hard, wind blowing on my whole, torn skin body was in excrutiating pain. i asked him to shut the doors because i was in massive pain, and he said no every time i asked.

I've met very few of the "good" cops. Too many have that power trip, which is the only thing they have going for themselves. After a while you get tired of going to court fighting bullshit tickets like "revving the engine" and "parking in 2 parking spots"

In the Puget Sound region (Seattle) within the last two months eight cops were shot. Six died and two lived. I wonder how officers are going to react to calls now. Probably be really on edge. Advice from an attorney in the firm I work at is, 'if the cops come to you dont talk, if you go to the cops then talk.'

I see your guys point as far as them being jerks or whatever. But what goes around comes around. Doesn’t matter whether you’re a dentist, dishwasher, cop, or Enron Executive.

Everything a cop goes into is a step into the unknown. In 2005 when John Hyde shot Officers King and Smith, the cops didn’t know he had murdered 3 innocent people earlier that day. They just thought they were taking a mentally ill guy to the hospital to get help. In 2006 when Deputy Mcgrane stopped Michael Astorga in the east mountains for a “routine” traffic stop, he didn’t know Astorga was wanted for Murder and was planning to shoot him.

Shit happens, go to odmp.org… it’s not easy out there. I know this is a can of worms, but go ahead and hate.

So since those cops were killed, that means other cops should give bullshit loitering and exhaust tickets? And speak to you like your a piece of garbage while they're doing so?
