I am going to build a boosted 5.3 LS and I'm looking into all the different types of cams (and power curves thereof) for it. I'm looking into a TH400 for my trans and likely a custom converter. I want this setup to be for fun street use and able to kick a Scatpack or Hellcat's ass on a quarter or eighth mile.
I've been doing reading about ideal power curves for drag racing and racers often want to shift after peak power is made to a lower RPM making the same power as they were at the shift RPM. Should I be thinking this far into it? or will a performance cam that keeps making power high in the powerband work fine?
