Well I had recently fixed my clutch cable for my T5 foxbody.
A week later (just hours ago) boom, something happens and I can no longer use my clutch.
Turns out my cable exterior walls (the rubbery exterior) popped. This meant my cable would only bend on itself unable to disengage my clutch.

Got another cable just now installed it and drove it home.

I need help on installing it correctly because the new cable I had, had rub marks all over where it broke.

I installed the brand brand new cable and drove it home leaving it parked.
I don't want be left stranded once again so I am asking if anyone knows how to install the clutch cable correctly to please lend a helping hand, even if it is just giving instructions. The 1st cable I had with the car had no problems with it being worn down because of my chassis, so I put the new cable in the same location and it gave me trouble. I will try and take pictures tomorrow if needed.
I am not going to drive it until I find instructions to properly install it or someone helps out.
Thanks.

Here are some pics.. The cable is still pretty hard to use, and I'm probably not installing it right, or there are two versions of the cable, and I got the crappy one after breaking the good one.

In this 3rd picture I tried routing it to the right (crossed out circle), that caused it to kink up, on the left where its at right now doesn't seem bad but that seems incorrect for me. I am currently rerouting it to see where it doesn't interfere with the shaft.

Will post more pictures after rerouting. Currently still not being driven.

Can you tell where/what it was rubbing on? Need pics!
I could not tell where it was rubbing because I replaced the cable without a jack, and drove it home right away. I barely got to look at the broken cable before I returned it and got it replaced free.
Although by the looks of this install it looked like it was rubbing on the steering shaft on picture number 3.

I believe I finally got it right.
Still doesn't feel that way though. Damn cable.
Mind you my car is the greasiest pig, I blame previous owners.
Will the cable be alright right next to the oil pan, or am I still putting it in the wrong place?
Thanks for the input and help, I guess my cable was never in the right spot from the beginning...sigh
This is how I have it routed now, still havn't driven it but I did feel the pedal, stiff cable (crappy cable)

here is some info about clutch cables from maximum motorsports

MM Universal Ford OEM Clutch Cable!

We have done a lot of research on clutch cables, buying and testing almost every different cable on the market we could find. We have found after all this investigation, that the OEM Ford Clutch Cables are the best quality cables available. They have a multi-material, layered construction that provides better heat, friction and collapsibility protection than all the aftermarket cables we dissected. With that in mind, we have begun selling all year ranges of factory cables, for those customers that demand a cable that will last. We have developed a clutch adjustment package that will work with all OEM Ford cables. Our Quadrant, firewall package will allow the use of all OEM Ford cables (and adjustable cables, too), however the cables all require some minor modifications.

We also sell a package with the MM Universal Ford OEM cable, which comes with all the parts you need to install a Ford quality cable with an aluminum quadrant and firewall adjuster, that requires no additional cable modifications. This universal cable will provide more header clearance, and therefore even better heat protection, than any other cable we have found, including the 5.0 liter engine OEM Ford cables!! This cable, quadrant and firewall adjuster can be the answer to all your clutch cable problems! We have also discontinued selling adjustable clutch cables due to the poor quality and repeated returns we have experienced. Based on our research and ongoing testing, OEM Ford cables are the only solution to clutch cable problems.

The photo below compares the construction of an aftermarket clutch cable (upper cable) and an OEM Ford cable (lower cable). Note that Ford utilizes a multi layer construction which helps prevent heat from affecting the sliding action of the inner cable or causing a compression failure of the outer housing, while still allowing the cable to be sufficiently flexible. While we have looked at the construction of many aftermarket cables, none have had a construction that can compare to the quality of the OEM Ford cables.
