what was the best car youve ever had? I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler with 140,000 miles and the only thing ive ever changed on it is the belt and battery( and rear end gears but thats stupidety on my side)
Best car? Not sure how to rate that one. My most capable car in terms of all around performance and handling would be my old Toyota.
But to tag along with your theme of easy and cheap best car, that would have to be my first car: a 1990 Acura Legend V6 L. Great car, fully loaded with leather and a V6. My dad gave it to me. I thought it was the fastest most awesome thing ever. Until after one particularly horrible winter season out in California (I still lived out there!), when we discovered that all the seals were wasted on the car: the entire interior and trunk were destroyed with mold and corrosion, and the engine got fucked with debris (even animals ate through the wiring!). We donated it to charity as a tax writeoff. Total money spent on this car ZERO DOLLARS! HAHA! Beat that cheap friends!
Best car I ever had as in least maintnence most abuse was a 96 grand am. I hated it at the time but I miss it now. That thing saw more air than The General Lee. Once had a guy in some piece of shit toyota park behind me and blocked me in at a party. I just backed up to his bumper, and floored it. Pushed his car out into the street and left. It was pretty quick for what it was as well. I would put it in neutral, floor it while it banged off the limiter at 4k rpms then drop it in gear. I had it about 6 months, put 40,000 miles on it, 6 tires, 2 windshields, new motor mount and an oil pan, all from hard landings except the windshields were from getting in fights. It all ended one night after I blew the left front tire around 90-100 mph on a dirt road. There was 27 feet where there was no tire tracks but it hit a large rock on the landing bending the frame around the radiator. I tried to get out to change the tire once I got it back on the road but it had pushed the fender back to where the door didn't want to open. I knew the tire was already ruined so I tried to limp it back home and made it about 2 miles before the coolant light came on. Sold it to my step brother and told him that it needed a radiator before driving it but he drove it till he burned it up. If I could find another one for cheap enough, I would pick it up, put nitrous on it and use it like overgrown go-kart.
My E30 318i, 108 crank hp at sea level! First car i've ever owned, bought it with Wal-mart spray paint in frog green covering it, still the most reliable vehicle i've ever had, the most fun as well. Once I get my Cobra i'll be able to get the new engine in the car and start building it! No it's not going to be a drift car!
Well. Uhh. In terms of price versus reliability it would have to be this damn '88 Escort. $400, 38k original miles, and the thing will not stop; if it would I could justify buying another daily! Otherwise the motorcycles I have owned have all been the lowest maintainence vehicles, cheapest operating costs, etc. Suprisingly the two Cobra's I've owned have never given me a single problem either. I know, I know...they are Ford's...weird...
the best car i ever owned, my sisters old oldsmobile something. i had a trans am at the time but the damn thing never ran so after my sister got t boned by a truck.. well the cars passanger side was completly destroyed and i used tie downs to keep the door shut.. i drove the car for 4 years no oil changes or nothing 120k miles, i started a carpet cleaning company with it haha, all my equip was shoved into that car . without that car i would still probably be broke
1984 ford f100. Primer grey, 5.0l straight 6, manual windows, locks, no PS, mexican rims and tires (you know the fat low profile primes). Yup drove that bitch like it was stolen for 4 years, then gave it to my brother who got it stuck on the beach in South Padre, Tx more times than he could count, ran it up and down montesa park like it was a 4x4, rarely changed the oil, never changed anything else. Only reason its not around today is my brother got this novel idea to challenge a Jeep GC to a t-bone match and lost. Not bad for a free truck. Man i miss old grey.
