I am looking into an alarm system and need advice.... I want a system that has a key fob that will notify if vehicle has been tampered with. I would also like the autostart option. Any advice is appreciated. Has anybody used Audio-express for installing/purchasing? I want a real clean job, as I'm a very picky person.

Thanks,

Zack

All of my auto teachers at CNM say crap about the 1 dollar install, such as they don't look where wires are underneath the car and have ran a screw straight into it grounding it, and other horror stories.
Anyways idk about alarms but all of my friends that have one have viper.

Any DEI product w/2 way transmitter Viper, Clifford, Avatal. they are good shit
I would stay away from 1 dollar jobs , remote starts are serious on newer vehicles and need to be done right.

My dad has a Clifford in his truck and it's pretty badass. Remote start capable, remote fuel cut-off, a microwave sensor of something so it'll give a warning tone if you're looking in the window without touching and logs if it's been set off.
The work I saw done by Drivers Den on my buddies car looked pretty good, maybe give them a call.

Audio Express=FAIL. I've seen so many HORRIBLE jobs done from there. Including one on one of my parent's past vehicles. I've had a Viper 2-way alarm on the evo for about 4 years. Installed by Best Buy. Haven't had any problems with it whatsoever.

Audio Express has NEVER been known for their quality.. only negative shit..

I'd personally check out the other places in town that people have had good experience with. Oh and have you ever looked into lo-jack? if you're vehicle gets stolen, police are able to tap into the signal that it sets off and they have an incredible percentage for finding stolen vehicles right away

Thanks for all the input!! I guess I could activate my onstar to... I think I'm going to go with a Viper with remote start, remote notification, tilt sensors etc. I will most likely use bestbuy.
