Not so much of a technical question, more advice. If you were in my position and had around 20K that you could use freely on whatever you wanted for your car, (1989 IROCZ) what would you do?? I was leaning towards maybe an LSX swap with some kind of power adder and do the whole Street/Strip weekend warrior thing. Hopefully building the suspension for that setup, doing the whole shabang, 9" rear, built tranny, fuel system, wheels tires, doing the interior, and whatever safety precautions the car would need. So I am looking for opinions on what you guys would personally do if you were in my situation. And no I dont want to sell the car and buy something else with the money, I know they are sick mullethead beaters but I love 3rd gens and wanna make this one just as nice or better than 4th gens. So I would appreciate your guys input!! Thanks so much.

It's possible with a turbo LS1, Sean at Solid makes 830rwhp and gets around 15mpg. If you're gonna turbo it, just use a small cube LS1 and run about a 76mm turbo, good gas mileage and plenty of power. If you need more power, add 100 shot. That should go low 9's...
So your saying for a really fast but streetable setup do the big cubes and Direct port, but for a more fun daily driven car, do a stock ls1 cube with something like a 76mm turbo?
What do you think the labor would cost for a build like this if I had someone do it for me?
Labor will depend on if you have a bolt on turbo kit of a custom one. It will be a lot though, either way.
Word. **** it. I like doing the shit myself anyway. Just gotta find the time. and the tools. And the knowledge. lol
You could just do a big block with a big procharger. That bitch would get down! And that's basically a bolt together project, not much custom work.
