the new 2011 mustang gt will be out in around May with a 5.0 4-valve motor, that will make 420+ hp, 6speed manual and a 6 speed auto, and the v-6 mustang will get a 3.7 liter with 315HP, there will be a new front facia to the mustang as well. the mustang is 300-400 lighter than the camaro. also there is a rumor of a BOSS version with the 6.2 SOHC 2valve Motor 500HP. looks like the fun will begin again in the hp wars on the pony cars.

Both mustang and camaro are gonna be sick
wonder what the z28 will actually end up costing...
I'm down for a boss version of the mustang if it has a 6.2 in it. Definitely a revival of the old horsepower wars from back in the day.

6 cylinder models are in the low to mid 20's, SS models are low to mid in the 30's, I'd imagine the Z/28 will be in the low to mid 40's.

Ya they gotta keep the price low on the z/28. As long as in comes in under a gt500, but comparable to a challenger srt8 price-wise, they should sell like hotcakes.
the 2011 gt 5.0 will be in the $31,000 range for 420hp 6-speed, i have a buddy of mine that works for gm and no answer for the z-28 to come out, rumor has it that gm will no longer have stock options in january.
Thats a bad ass looking engine bay area, especially from the factory! Cant wait to see what the Z/28 and 2011 GT looks like...there may be a car i would buy new after all! lol
New Z-28 will be the bad boy!!!:headbang::headbang:
Motor Trend article. They've seen the clay model. This baby will go into production. But we'll have to wait till end of 2011 to get it.
Sale price is est. $22k to $33k
A new hood features a large, forward-facing scoop. Underneath is the 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V-8 that also powers the Cadillac CTS-V. As we have already confirmed, this is quite a powerplant, delivering 556 horsepower at 6100 rpm and 551 pound-feet of torque at 3800 rpm.

As the Z/28 will weigh 200 to 300 pounds less than the CTS-V, it may nail 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and run the quarter in the very low 12s. This Z28 could be the fastest Chevy ponycar since the legendary ZL-1-powered COPO 9560 Camaros built 40 years ago.

the z-28 at a price of $33,000, will be faster than a c6 corvette for $25,000 less. ad as fast as a z06 which is $50,000 or more, what a bargain. i think if they build it, the price range will be near $50,000 or over.

Lol, 50k for a camaro. Not gonna happen, as i said before, price of the Z/28 will be mid to low 40's. Lol, and Z06's run in the mid to high 70's btw. People don't buy Corvettes because they are faster, they buy them because they have a passion for the car itself. Thats like saying, why would someone buy a cobra for 20k when they could buy a much faster LS1 powered Camaro for 9k (sorry, I had to).
My guess is the Z28 will sticker for mid 40's, but look for 50k+ actual sales price once the additional dealer mark up is put on them, for the first year anyway. If they are in the low 40's, there will be one in my garage, but I'll be dammed if I going to pay above sticker for any car.
