No cam, valves, springs, pushrods, rockers or lifters, just a transfer port, I had a 2.4 litre Black Max Offshore engine on my 18' Tunnel Hull when I lived in Florida, I rebuilt it myself with some trick parts from Land & Sea, it dynoed 268hp @8000 rpm! incredible power from about 142ci, if you've never seen an outboard engine dyno, it's really something, you take the prop off and hook this big ass cable to it, it runs to a pressure pump, the pressure it generates is converted to horsepower, and just for the record, my lil' V6 Merc kicked the shit out of the V8 'Rudes, they were better suited to powering bigger , heavier boats, I love all things Two Stroke, good post.
